Every now and then a film comes along that captures
the imagination of the movie-going public.
It quickly become part of the national psyche; iconic.

A good example, just say “Ruuuuu … deeeeee, Ruuuuu …
deeeeee, Ruuuuu … deeeee” quickly three times and anyone within earshot will
know immediately you are referring to Sean Astin’s performance in director David
Anspaugh’s 1993 sports biopic
Rudy.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that
Nov. 14 (college football season … the street-date Tuesday just before Notre
Dame hosts Wake Forest on Nov. 18) will be the release date for a 4K Ultra
HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack edition of
Rudy,
with two viewing options.

Fans can select the original theatrical cut,
clocking in at 114 minutes, or the newly-prepared “Director’s Cut” of
Rudy, which
includes an addition 13-minutes worth of footage.

Bonus goodies include a newly-prepared commentary featuring
David Anspaugh (two-time Emmy-winner for
Hill
Street Blues
, plus such films as Hoosiers,
Fresh Horses, Moonlight and Valentino
),
who is joined by screenwriter Angelo Pizzo (
Hoosiers,
My All-American
) on the Director’s Cut commentary.

Additionally, there are five deleted scenes and a
pair of featurettes — “Rudy: The Real Story” and “First Down with Sean Astin.”
