The Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic special won the award for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), but only the producers of the event were recipients and Van Dyke was not credited as a producer. Therefore, he was not eligible for the win, according to Variety.

There were reports that Dick became the oldest recipient of a Primetime Emmy Award, but unfortunately that is not true. Norman Lear holds that honor after winning at the age of 98 in 2020 for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for Live in Front of a Studio Audience.

Dick‘s wife Arlene Silver was credited as a producer and she received an award!
