Today, Apple TV+ dropped a four-part docu-series called Cowboy Cartel that had me on the edge of my seat. especially at episode 3 and 4 as the tale of the FBI investigating the Zeta cartel and money laundering in the world of American quarter horse racing.
Imagine if you will, one of the deadliest drug wars in American history that saw turns at every chance and everything from undercover work, to murder, drugs, to fixed races and so much more. I feel like just telling everyone that I’ve seen this series and then hiding. This is real life scary stuff that took place in the Southwestern US and across into Mexico.
I was really fascinated at how they were able to fix a horse race to increase stud fees for their entry. The detail was amazing and you can see just how intimidating reality can be and how deadly a quick turn down the road may become.
Amazed at the diligent and hard work by men and women of the FBI are and refreshed yet horrified to see how they can be threatened to the same level as you or I when faced with ultimate danger.
Hopefully these individuals are safe, because this story proves, that when you investigate the bad guys, you and your family are never safe enough.
This cowboy says Yahoo that individuals exist to keep us safe when the threats around us try to seep into our normal daily lives.
Oh and by the way, I still think the best overall quality programming on streaming appears on AppleTV+. They don’t have the most quantity, but quality is a home run.
