Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be turning
writer/director Gene Stupnitsky’s fish-out-water comedy, No Hard
Feelings
— starring and produced by Jennifer
Lawrence — in just 67 days from its theatrical launch.  Planned for release are DVD and Blu-ray editions.

To accomplish that lightning-quick turnaround, the
street date will be Aug. 29.  Box office
receipts currently stand at $46.6 million.

The fist-out-of-water in this festive summer flick is Percy
Becker (Andrew Barth Feldman), a Princeton University-bound freshman who is so
shy and awkward that his parents (played by Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti)
will do just about anything to get him ready for the fall semester — they see
the future and know that he will be eaten alive unless he develops some sort of
social skills set.

To that end, they place an ad on Craig’s List and
the very desperate and financially strapped Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) —
past-time bartender/part-time Uber driver — just happens to be in the right
place at the right time and wins the very odd summer gig.

The set-up is great fun — a blend between romcom
silly and inventive slapstick — that gives Feldman and Lawrence plenty to work
with (a series of comedy set pieces and gags).

The only negative is the mid-August VOD window that
has the “helper” community (pirates) licking their chops with
johnny-on-the-spot Blu-ray pre-orders a full two weeks before the legitimate
product ships.

Bonus features include outtakes, a blooper reel and
a pair of featurettes — “A Motley Crew: Meet the Characters” and “A Little Wrong:
Making No Hard Feelings.”
